On January 1, 2026, the fee for mattress and foundation sales in Rhode Island will increase to $22.50 per unit sold. Beginning with the January 2026 reporting period, the reporting portal will calculate your recycling fee at $22.50 per unit sold or refunded.

Sales made in 2025 which are not expected to be delivered in 2026 must be included in your November 2025 or December 2025 fee reports to be calculated at the current rate of $20.50.

Refunds for sales made in December 2025 must be reported for the amount collected at the time of sale: $20.50.

The option to select the proper rate will be available when you submit your January 2026 report.
