On April 1, 2026, the fee for mattress, foundation and futon sales in California will increase to $18.00 per unit sold. Beginning with the April 2026 reporting period, the reporting portal will calculate your recycling fee at $18.00 per unit sold or refunded.

Sales made prior to the fee change which are expected to be delivered after April 1, 2026 must be included in your January, February or March 2026 fee reports to be calculated at the current rate of $16.00.

Refunds for sales made in March 2026 must be reported at the $16.00 fee collected at the time of sale.

The option to select the proper rate will be available when you submit your April 2026 report.
